This product has been a lifesaver for my kids’ bums.
I started using Penaten Medicated Creamy Diaper Rash Treatment when B was a baby, and I still keep a tube at home today—even though neither of my kids wears diapers anymore.
I am not loyal to baby products.
Honestly, I’ve never had strong preferences when it comes to most baby products.
Baby lotion? Whatever was on sale.
Baby wash? Sure, let’s try this one this time.
Even diapers? I switched brands without thinking too much about it.
But when it comes to diaper rash cream, I have remained loyal to this one product.
Why?
Because, in our experience, it works really well.

Why I Use This One?
Penaten Creamy Medicated Diaper Rash Treatment contains **13% zinc oxide** and is intended to help treat and protect against diaper rash.
Because it is a medicated cream, I don’t use it as an everyday moisturizer. I reach for it when I notice the first signs of redness or irritation, following the directions on the package.
When my kids were babies, this was the cream I used whenever diaper rash appeared.
We Still Use It After Diapers
Even though my kids are now out of diapers, I still keep this cream in a drawer.
Sometimes I notice redness around their bottoms after a shower. I occasionally wonder whether the toilet paper at their schools is a little too rough on their skin.
When that happens, this is still the product I reach for. In our experience, the redness often looks much better by the following day.
What About the Daily-Use Penaten Cream?
I also have a daily-use moisturizer from the same company.
It is perfectly fine, but honestly, I can’t say that I notice a huge difference between that one and other everyday moisturizers.
But this medicated cream?
This one is a keeper.
It is one of the very few baby products I continued buying long after the baby stage ended.
